Wajima Festival
This festival originated as a lacquer craftsmen's festival, but it became a city festival when the municipal government was established. On Saturday afternoon, the festival begins with Shisso-sai on Mt. Jinoko. (Shisso-sai means "a ceremony to celebrate the lacquer pioneers.") After this, various events are held over two days. These events include the bamboo grass kiriko parade, the joint music band city parade, the ceremony to wish for industry development, a portable shrine visit, and an art exhibit. (first Saturday and Sunday in June)
