Sosogi Large Festival
This festival is conducted in Sosogi, Machino-machi, on August 17th and 18th with the cooperation of the local tourist association to publicize and promote it as a sightseeing spot. On the evening of 17th, there is a tremendous kiriko parade conducted by the young men's association. In this parade, a 10-meter high kiriko and four 7-meter high kiriko are carried in a procession around the town. On the evening of 18th, you can enjoy a joint taiko concert in Madoiwa Pocket Park, which is in front of the well-known sightseeing spot of the same name. This concert includes Kodomo Kiriko Taiko (Okura Elementary School), Kiriko Taiko (Sosogi Women's Fire Company), Hase Taiko (Sosogi Young Men's Association), and Goginjo Daiko. Around nine p.m., the two-day festival ends with a big finale of fireworks.
