Mosso Festival
@The Mosso Festival originated to pray for a good harvest in the Edo period. It is said that farmers who suffered from giving most of their rice to their lords as taxes started to cultivate secret rice paddies. Once a year they would get together and eat as much as they could from the harvest of these paddies. Even now people in Futegawa-machi, Wajima celebrate this day by eating huge servings of rice in lacquered bowls. (February 16th)
