This type of tofu, said to be hard enough to tie up in rope and carry with you, has its origin in the Dezukuri life. This tofu can be taken with you on the road. It is often eaten in a manner similar to sashimi (sliced raw fish) by dipping it in soy sauce seasoned with grated wasabi. It is a local prodacts of the Hakusan-roku region.
