The Four Teahouses

Funano-ochin Teahouse

The fifth lord Maeda Tsunanori constructed this teahouse when he built Renchi-tei Garden, and it was restored along with Shigure-tei Teahouse in 2000.

It was originally located on a lookout point from which could be seen the Japan Sea, Kahoku-gata Lake, Noto Peninsula and the Hakusan mountain range.

Its characteristic boat shape appears on picture maps of the feudal period.

The present location, near a plum grove, is perfect for blossom viewing.
