"Kuretake Library" of Mikawa Town, established in 1922 by Gentaro Kumada, a Kitamae ship owner, at his own expense.

It stores a number of precious scientific and technical books, as well as literary works, and is open to the public as part of the exhibition of local culture.

In the field of science and education, the Ohie Family of Segoe and the Kubo Family of Hashidate also made great contributions to the establishment of local schools.

Furthermore, the fact that the families of Kitamae ship owners have produced famous scholars and artists of Japan serves as another of their great achievements.
