Influenced by the Kitamae Ships delivering kelp from Hokkaido, kelp consumption per household is the highest among all the prefectural capitals in Japan. Kelp, transported to the Satsuma Clan, was exported to China via Okinawa. And Japan imported raw materials for Chinese medicine from China, and this material were handed to pharmacies in Toyama.
