Mukai Awagasaki
Awagasaki, along the Ono River, prospered by the Kitamae Ships. Kiya Touemon (Awagasaki) and Shimazaki Tokubei (Mukai-Awagasaki) were very active as Kitamae Ship owners.
Kiya Touemon
Kiya Touemon conducted a lot of business with Daimyos from the clans along the Sea of Japan, and made a financial contribution to each clan. Awagasaki Hachiman Shrine preserves a lot of dedicated votive pictures of the ships.
