Unique Paper-making

The Kaga Futamata paper industry has added to traditional papers new types such as thick ceremonial paper, antique paper, bamboo shoot paper, tissue paper and mulberry paper.

The tissue paper of the town of Kawakita is known for its high quality, and is used for certificates and lithographs, as well as stationery, housewares and handbags.

Noto Nigyo Washi produces folkloric papers such as Chinese drawing paper and cryptomeria-bark paper, which have a simple feel, and are gaining popularity for decorative purposes and for handicrafts.
