Suzu Pottery, which keeps the tradition of sue-ki (ancient earrthenware), is an important
example of the medieval Nihonkai culture. By recent excavation studies, several Suzu Wares have
been discoverd not only in the Hokuriku region but also in Hokkaido. This museum opened in 1989
to collect, maintain and display these pieces. Each display room has a theme and tells the
relationship between the history of Suzu Pottery and people.
