It started when Yasue Komei, a gold leaf craftsman, showed to the public the gold leaf pieces
which he had collected and kept with all of his fortune. He had an earnest wish "to leave the
pride and works of craftsmen to future generations."
It displays the gold leaf producing tools and procedural materials on the first floor, and "The
writing box with the design of a crane and a pine tree" by Igarashi Doho and a noh play costume
entitled, "Kara-ori with the design of a hermitage and grass flowers," on the second floor.
You can also watch haku-utsushi (leaf transfer).
