It collects a wide range of historical and archeological materials of the region from primitive
stone tools and remains unearthened in Ishikawa to modern science and techonology. The experience
section is popular, because you can actually touch some materials and wear some clothes.
The building was an old army armory constructed from the end of the Meiji period to the beginning
of the Taisho period. After Worrld War Two, it became the school building of Kanazawa College
of Art. The building with beautiful red brick walls was designated as a national important cultural
property.
