It is the largest museum in the prefecture, where the lord paraphernalia handed down through the
Maeda Family as well as fine pieces of artwork and craftwork connected to Ishikawa are collected
and shown.
There are seven display rooms for the permanent collection. The first display room has the incense
burner in the shape of a pheasant (national treasure), and the incense burner in the shape of
a female pheasant (important cultural property) by Nonomura Ninsei. The second room displays old
artwork including Ko-Kutani Porcelain and tea ceremony utencils, and the Maeda Ikutoku-kai display
room also has old artwork. The other four rooms display all the fields of painting, sculpture
and craftwork by artists somehow connected to Ishikawa.
There are three special display rooms for numerous exhibitions.
The museum actively does research and study work. It researches on artists somehow connected to
Ishikawa as well as regional culture.
