The Story of the Kaga Tea Ceremony
A guest is invited and is served matcha, whisked powdered tea.
This custom began in the Song Dynasty of China and was brought to Japan in the Kamakura Period , 800 years ago, by a Zen Buddhist monk who had studied in China.
The custom of drinking tea spread to the people and eventually 400 years ago it was brought to perfection as "Cha no Yu" or "Chado", the way of tea, by master Sen Rikyu.
