"Food PIA in Kanazawa" began in 1985 as an event in which you can experience culture of food and environment that is closely related with food in Ishikawa. The event is held in February every year when food ingredients are most available throughout year. During the term of the event, celebrities are invited and discuss about foods in Ishikawa (Food Talk), and events, such as Snow Watch Party at Kenrokuen and Food PIA land, are held. Every year, a lot of visitors and participants come and join the events of "Food Festival".

Food Talk is a main event of "Food PIA in Kanazawa". It is held at first class Japanese restaurants in Ishikawa, mostly in Kanazawa City. Celebrities from various fields are invited, and participants enjoy the discussion with those celebrities while experiencing the good taste of food of Ishikawa in winter.
Snow Watch Party at Kenrokuen is a very popular event of Food PIA in Kanazawa and held at teahouses close to Kenrokuen. Guests can enjoy meals while watching traditional dancing and music of geishas. You will certainly enjoy watching those covered famous trees against snow with beautifully lightened at Kenrokuen in the evening.

Food PIA Land is held at Central Park. Traditional stoves are set for the guests to enjoy seafood from the Sea of Japan, and street stalls of Japanese, Western, Chinese, and ethnic foods are also available. Furthermore, famous noodle shops from all over the country come here and organize a town of noodle shops. The Central Park is crowed with a lot of families and sightseers every year.
"Maimon" is a dialect of Noto Area and means something tasty. In Anamizu Town, sales promotion campaigns of full-courses of "isaza", "striped mullet", "chest nuts and mushrooms", and "oysters" are held in spring, summer, fall, and winter, respectively. Special events are also held outdoors. In winter, in the field of City Hall, traditional stoves of 150 meter in length are set up, and people enjoy, in snow, oysters grilled over charcoal.
There are two features in Monzen-soba. One is the buckwheat raised in natural environment of Noto. And the other is unique flavor of Japanese yams used for a liaison. The market is held on the first Sunday of March every year at Soujiji Street in Monzen Town for many people to come and enjoy Monzen-soba. A discussion on the subject of soba noodle, and tent shops of special products are open.
